Jungian Sand
Play Therapy

Is an effective non-talking therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Freedom Therapeutic Services offers it as part of the play therapy or creative arts therapy session. The client is encouraged to make use of the materials, objects and figures to create an image in the sand tray. The therapist offers a free and protected space, where healing, personal growth, insight and change can occur for the client by working at depth with the unconscious process of their psyche.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Taking place within a naturally therapeutic outdoor setting, it combines physical exercise with counselling, psychotherapy and mindfulness.

Here are various issues that I have work with. If you need to call about your problems which are not listed below and need more information, please call to discuss your concerns with me.

My Services

Anxiety

Anxiety is common in mental illness or after extreme or distressing experiences. You may feel intense apprehension or worry, accompanied by acute physical signs such as: sleeplessness or rapid heartbeat.

Bereavement

It is normal to feel angry, sad or lonely when a loved one
dies or leaves. Even the loss of a pet can have a major psychological effect. Any concerns give me a call and I will get back within 24 hours.

Work-Related Issues

The average person spends almost a quarter of their adult
life at work. It can give you a sense of purpose, structure
and satisfaction while also providing the means to finance daily life.

Panic Attack

During a panic attack you get a rush of intense mental and physical symptoms. It can come on very quickly and for no apparent reason. A panic attack can be very frightening and distressing. The number of attacks you have will depend
on how severe your condition is. Some people have attacks
once or twice a month, while others have them several
times a week.

Self-harm

Self-harm can be a way of coping with painful and difficult feelings and distress. You may harm yourself because you feel overwhelmed and don’t know how else to deal with things. Therapy may help you discover and deal with the feelings that are causing you to self-harm.

Depression

Depression can be a devastating illness that affects your body, mood, behaviour and thoughts. It is not a sign of weakness or failure, and it's not something that can be changed overnight.

Low Self Esteem

If you have low self-esteem, you may view life in a negative way which makes things seem hopeless or pointless. You might think you are worthless, and that other people are better than you.

Relationship

Relationship therapy encourages the parties in a relationship to recognise repeating patterns of distress and to understand and manage troublesome differences that they are experiencing. The relationship involved may be between members of a family, a couple, or even work colleagues.

Jungian Sandplay Therapy

Therapy may be offered in conjunction with talk based therapy. It can be uniquely helpful when words fail to get to the heart of the true experience a client may be wrestling with, or  when something intuitive arises that may require tactile exploration or symbolic / non-verbal expression.

Walk & Talk therapy

Walk and talk therapy is also particularly helpful for people feeling they are trapped in a life or roles that don’t fit them anymore. Being outdoors and talking about their issues enhances the renewal of a sense of freedom. Walking helps increase the blood flow to the brain, and new ideas to tackle our issues are more likely to come up.
"I came to Alex when I had run out of options, and I was only spiralling further and further down. Alex didn’t lift me up, he passed me the ladder and helped me climb up with his help, and he really helped me a lot. What I discovered is that therapy isn’t magic. You have to let your guard down and allow your emotions to run free. Only then can you ever make progress. But I urge whoever may be reading this to give it a try. You’ll be glad of it in the end."
"Alex supported me through a difficult time in my life and help me manage many difficult thoughts and feeling. I am very grateful for his warm supportive help."
"I found working with Alex incredibly valuable in terms of increasing my self awareness on how to improve my self esteem. My self esteem in particular has been a big contributor to my struggle of forming any true romantic relationship in life."
"I found working with Alex incredibly valuable in terms of increasing my self awareness on how to improve my self esteem. My self esteem in particular has been a big contributor to my struggle of forming any true romantic relationship in life. I knew I wanted to improve my self esteem but didn't know some parts of myself well enough. I didn't understand where the low self esteem came from despite having what most would consider a very good life and lots going for me. Alex really helped focus on finding the problems with his incredible listening and conversation skills. The realisation of where my struggles came from made so much sense, through early experiences (significant but perhaps forgotten) and existing behaviours. Understanding more about where the struggle came from helped me to consider actions to improve. In addition I feel I can talk openly to Alex in my sessions. He's extremely easy to talk to and professional. I feel safe sharing my authentic self, which I feel even more empowered to share with others."
Thank you Alex for all your help.
